New Zealand - Nelson: The Adventure Continues...

On the way to Nelson....

After making the track back from Franz Joseph to Christchurch with my friends, they went home, and I got on a bus and journeyed to Nelson, to begin the second part of my adventure - hiking and kayaking in the beautiful Abel Talsem Forest

Here are some pictures that I took from inside the bus, (you will see the glare from the glare from the window in some of the pictures), with a crappy camera! You can still get an idea of how magnificant and beautiful the place is! ah, if only taking the bus was always like this, I would never get off!

The landscape was constantly changing...

Lots of wine vineyards...and beer hops. Ah, if only the bus stopped for wine tasting, the ultimiate bus ride would of come to frusion!

When I got off my bus, I did not see any taxi cabs. So, I asked the older gentleman who was unloading my suitcase where I could get cab to Monoco - the town where my hotel was. Turns out he was one of the bus drivers. He said he was going that way, and he offered me a ride and refused to take any money. That is the way New Zealanders are...they are great people! Very friendly and hosptiable. It is like stepping back in time going there....

To give you an idea, here is an example of a town in New Zealand:

Here is some pictures of my quaint hotel called - "the Honest Attorney". I wansn't sure what to expect from the name, but, the hotel was very nice and the staff was quite accommodating...

Looking out of my hotel window...

Seeing my hotel window from the outside...

It doesn't get dark until about 10:00 pm during the summer, so, even though I arrived quite late, I still had time to take a stroll by the hotel - the tide was out, but, it was still beautiful.
